hi guys. im thought i'd say somethin about this whole war thing.
first of all, much like prolife people, anti-war people like to say that the opposition (me) are "pro war". im not going to say that no one is pro-war, because there are a lot of psychotic people out there...
but i am certainly not pro-war. i dont want war. i dont like when people die. in fact, thats why im FOR the attack. FOR the disarmament
you may say that that doesnt make sense, well allow me to explain...
saddam is one insane mother fucker. okay this is not your regular old joe somebody down at the convienance store. this is a man who murders his own citizens, has plenty of resources to create weapons of mass destruction, and has the will to use them. he has proved this in the past.
when it comes to war and weapons of this caliber, there are always gambles and risks. the question is, which is the best one? would you put millions of people at risk on the chance that this insane man DOESN'T have any weapons, even though all our information points to the opposite? if there are casualties, would you rather them be people who have made the decision to put themselves at risk and and are trained to defend themselves and us, or civilians, children, etc? yes, iraqi civilians will no doubt die, even though our forces will try their best to keep the casualties to a minimum, but ask yourself, do you think that saddam will do the same for us?
and if he doesn't attack america, whats to keep him from attacking another country? perhaps israel or another close country, one that is much less capable of defending itself than we are. are you prepared to sacrifice their lives as well for this "peace", where men like saddam can dictate and potentially kill millions merely on a whim?
i want peace as much as anyone else, but that wont come until we secure potential enemies, hopefully making it safe for ourselves and our children to live without fear.
Thank God! I thought I was the only one! I've been going through hell trying to explain to people how sometimes war is necessary. Even though we aren't Pro-War, we do want safety for our country as well as for others'.
Love Ya Kenny! **huggles**
